Combinations
Combinations say which kinds of discount yours is allowed to run alongside. They do not decide which discount actually applies to a cart — Shopify does that.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”Every discount carries three permissions: may it combine with product discounts, with order discounts, with shipping discounts. You set them on the discount; Shopify enforces them.
Leave all three off and the discount stands alone. Tick a box and you are telling Shopify this discount may run alongside that kind — not that it will.
Nothing on this card predicts an outcome. When two discounts could both apply, Shopify picks, and the app does not guess on its behalf.
Where it is
Section titled “Where it is”The Discount can be combined with: card, on every discount page, below the discount’s own configuration.

A conflict with a discount that is already live. Where the app can see one, it names it:
Another active discount doesn’t combine with this offer — one of them may not apply:
followed by the discount’s title, marked “(in this app)” or “(from another app)”. Up to three are listed, then “…and 2 more.” If your store has more active discounts than the app checks at once, it says so too.
Neither warning blocks Save.

Section titled “Limits and notes”- Three choices, on every discount type. They are independent — tick any combination of them.
- Combinations are Shopify’s call. Ticking a box grants permission; Shopify decides what actually applies to a given cart.
- Combining several kinds can add up to a large total. Build a test cart that triggers all of them before you turn a stacked set loose.
- The card never blocks Save, whatever it warns about.
- The list page’s Combines With column shows the same three permissions as badges, so you can scan every discount at once.
