Duplicate

Duplicate opens a fresh create page already filled in from an existing discount. It is the way to make a near-identical discount, and the way to change something the original will not let you change.

Duplicate copies the discount’s settings into a create form. Two fields are renamed so the copy is obvious at a glance:

  • the title becomes Copy of the original title
  • the code becomes COPY- the original code

Everything else is carried over as it was, dates included. The save bar is already showing when the page opens, because nothing has been created yet — you review, change what you want, and save. Saving makes a brand-new discount. The original is untouched.

Duplicate is a secondary action in the header of a discount’s edit page, next to the title.

The Convert to customer’s currency card offers a second door on the discounts where the setting is fixed after creation: Duplicate it with this on makes the copy with conversion turned on.

Opens the pre-filled create page. Disabled while the page is saving, and disabled while there are unsaved changes, with the help text “Save or discard your changes before duplicating.”

The renamed title and code on the copy. Change them to whatever you want before saving.

On a discount whose currency conversion cannot be changed, this makes the copy with conversion already turned on, so you do not have to rebuild the discount by hand.

  • Duplicate is on every discount type, including the Quantity Break, Spend More Save More and Gift with Purchase presets.
  • Save or discard first. The action is unavailable while the form is dirty.
  • Dates are copied as they are. A copy of a finished discount can open with dates already in the past — change them before saving.
  • Nothing is created until you save. Leaving the page creates no discount.
  • The copy is independent. Editing or deleting it never affects the original.
  • A Spend More Save More discount duplicates from its own editor, not from the order-discount page, so the tiers come with it.
