The 8 best Shopify discount apps in 2026, compared with real pricing

How we compared them

We searched the Shopify App Store for “discount”, kept the apps that run general promotions rather than one narrow feature, and read each listing in full. Every app was scored on the same five points:

1. Discount types. Product, order and shipping discounts, buy X get Y, bundles, volume tiers, spend-and-save, free gifts.
2. Targeting. Conditions on the cart, the items and the customer, customer segments, and Shopify Markets.
3. Storefront display. Whether shoppers see the deal on the product page and in the cart, and how that is delivered (theme app blocks or injected scripts).
4. Pricing model. Free, flat monthly, or usage-based, and what the free tier excludes.
5. Built for Shopify. Whether the app carries Shopify’s badge for performance, design and integration.

We did not run a lab test of each app on a store. Where a claim comes from a listing rather than from our own use, the listing is linked.

1. DiscountOS: every discount type, free on every plan

DiscountOS covers the widest range of promotion types in this list without a paid tier: product, order and shipping discounts, buy X get Y, bundles, quantity breaks, price lists, spend more, save more, gift with purchase and a multi-offer type that combines product, order and shipping offers in one discount. Nine of the ten run as an automatic discount or a discount code.

Targeting is where it separates from the pack. The rule builder takes twenty-plus conditions on the cart, the items and the customer, grouped with AND and OR. Product, order, shipping and price list discounts can be limited to Shopify customer segments, so a wholesale or VIP segment gets its own pricing with nothing to tag by hand. Every discount can be scoped to specific Shopify Markets, with money amounts converted to the shopper’s currency or kept as typed.

Storefront: sale badges, price drops, quantity break tables and a picker, and a cart goal bar render as theme app blocks and an app embed, so they use your theme’s fonts and colours and follow the discount they belong to.

Guardrails: maximum discount amounts, cart value limits, item limits, product and collection exclusions, usage limits, and block codes that refuse leaked codes with your own message in the code field.

Pricing: free on Basic, Shopify, Advanced and Plus, with no order or revenue caps.

Where it does not win: it has far fewer reviews than the established apps (22, all five stars, on the day we checked), it has no bulk price editor because it never rewrites your product prices, and the gift with purchase runs as an automatic discount only.

2. Discounty: bulk price edits and scheduled campaigns

Discounty describes itself as an all-in-one price editor and discount app. It runs product, volume and quantity discounts, BOGO with automatic add-to-cart, cart discounts and free shipping, and it can add conditions on customer segments, POS or online, and purchase type. Its strength is campaign management: scheduled start and end times, bulk price edits across many variants, and countdown and badge widgets.

Pricing: a free Starter plan limited to 10 live discounted variants and 3 campaigns. Paid plans were on a first-month promotion when we checked; the regular prices are $9.90, $29.90 and $49.90 per month, each raising the variant and campaign limits.

Where it wins: the biggest review base among true campaign managers, and bulk price editing for stores that want the sale price written into the product.

Where it does not: the free tier is small, and the price-editing approach means the discount is the product price itself rather than a Shopify discount applied on top.

3. Kite: free gifts, BOGO and progress bars

Kite by Skai Lama focuses on conversion mechanics: free gift with purchase that adds and removes gifts at cart thresholds, buy X get Y applied in the cart, tiered product and shipping discounts, and storefront progress bars and widgets. If a free gift is the only thing you need, DiscountOS runs the same automatic add-and-remove gift with no order cap; the free gift with purchase guide walks through the setup.

Pricing: free to install for the first 50 discount orders a month, then $29 a month once you pass 50. Starter, Growth and Pro plans run $29, $49 and $99 a month. The listing states the free plan is not available on Shopify Advanced and Plus.

Where it wins: gift and BOGO flows with a polished cart experience, and a large review base.

Where it does not: pricing scales with discount orders, and Advanced and Plus stores start on a paid plan.

Built for Shopify: yes.

4. Pumper: bundle and quantity-break widgets

Pumper is a bundle builder first. It creates quantity breaks and bundle offers with per-unit, percentage or flat discounts, free gifts and BOGO inside the bundle, and it integrates with page builders and cart drawers. It has the largest review count in this list.

Pricing: free until the app has generated $300 in extra revenue, then Starter at $9.99, Growth at $29.99 and Unlimited at $49.99 a month, with the tiers defined by revenue the app attributes to itself.

Where it wins: the bundle widget itself, and 24/7 chat support on every tier including free.

Where it does not: it is a bundle and quantity-break app, not a general discount engine. Order-level rules, shipping discounts and customer-segment targeting are not its focus.

5. Dealeasy: volume discounts and mix-and-match bundles

Dealeasy by Logbase builds quantity breaks, tiered pricing and volume bundles on the product page, mix-and-match bundles with a fixed bundle price, BOGO, free products and a rewards bar.

Pricing: free to install for stores up to 50 orders a month, then $9, $19 and $29 a month by your store’s total order count.

Where it wins: ten discount and bundle formats on the free tier for small stores, and clear order-count pricing.

Where it does not: the tiers count every order your store takes, not only discounted ones, so a growing store moves up the ladder whether or not it uses the app more.

6. Regios: nested rule logic for complex promotions

Regios Automatic Discounts pioneered a flowchart-style logic builder for Shopify discounts. It handles buy X get Y, fixed price, thresholds, shipping discounts and auto-added gifts, and it can stack several discounts in one rule.

Pricing: no free plan. Starter is $34.99 a month for up to 500 discounted orders, then Business at $59.99, Enterprise at $119.99 and Scale at $249.99, with a 7-day trial.

Where it wins: when a promotion is genuinely a decision tree, the visual builder is the clearest way to express it.

Where it does not: it is the most expensive entry point here, and pricing is capped by discounted orders per month.

Built for Shopify: yes.

7. Discount Kit: tiered volume and gift discounts with widgets

Discount Kit by Optizio adds tiered product volume, order volume and gift with purchase discounts, a customisable “advanced” discount, and storefront components built to upsell.

Pricing: Lite at $49.99 a month with 25 automatic and unlimited manual discounts, Pro at $99.99 and Enterprise at $349.99, each with a 7-day trial.

Where it wins: a focused set of native-feeling discount types and good documentation.

Where it does not: there is no free plan, and the Lite tier caps automatic discounts at 25.

Built for Shopify: yes.

8. Discount Mixer: many types on a small budget

Discount Mixer covers product, volume, cart, buy X get Y, BOGO, free gift and shipping discounts, customer-segment targeting, and widgets for sale badges, countdown timers, volume tables and cart savings.

Pricing: a free plan, then Essential and Pro plans that were on a first-month promotion when we checked, with regular prices of $8.99 and $20.99 a month, and Ultimate at $49.99.

Where it wins: breadth of discount types for the price.

Where it does not: the free plan is limited, and the smaller review base (240) gives less signal than the larger apps.

Built for Shopify: yes.

Which one should you pick?

• You want every promotion type and precise targeting, and you do not want a monthly bill: DiscountOS. It is the only app here that is free with no caps on every plan.
• Your store sells on bundles and quantity breaks above everything else: Pumper or Dealeasy. Both put a bundle widget on the product page and price by usage.
• Free gifts and BOGO are your main lever, and you are not on Advanced or Plus: Kite, starting on the free tier.
• You need a flowchart for nested rules and have the budget: Regios.
• You want a sale price written into the product itself, in bulk, on a schedule: Discounty.

Whichever you choose, run the break-even maths before the first campaign. A 20% discount on a 40% margin needs double the units just to stand still, and the app that shows the offer best cannot fix a promotion that loses money by design.

Questions merchants ask before installing

What is the best free discount app for Shopify? DiscountOS is free on every Shopify plan with no usage limits, and covers ten discount types plus storefront badges, price drops and tier tables. Among the others, Discounty and Discount Mixer have free plans with limits, and Kite, Dealeasy and Pumper are free to install with usage-based paid tiers.

Do I need an app for BOGO or volume discounts on Shopify? Shopify can create a basic buy X get Y and simple amount-off discounts natively. An app is what adds quantity tiers shown on the product page, bundles with one price, free gifts added to the cart automatically, market-specific deals, customer-segment targeting and rules that combine several conditions.

Will a discount app slow down my store? Apps built on Shopify Functions run the discount on Shopify’s servers, so the checkout does not wait on a third-party server. Storefront widgets are theme blocks that render with your theme. Check that any app you pick uses Shopify Functions and theme app blocks rather than injected scripts.

Can these apps show the discounted price before checkout? Most of the apps in this list ship storefront widgets: volume tables, badges or price displays on the product page. DiscountOS adds sale badges, price drops, quantity break tables, a picker and a cart goal bar as theme blocks and an app embed.
