Ranked by recent Shopify-verified work first (a merchant review in the last 12 months), then Shopify partner tier, then review count. "Best for" says which job each one suits.
Shopify agencies outside London
Only three of the twelve work from London alone: Dash, Underwaterpistol and Unified. The other nine have a base somewhere else, and five of them are Platinum partners, so a brand in the regions can hire a top-tier team close by.
- Birmingham. Kubix, the team behind the Ted Baker relaunch and OKA’s shops on Shopify POS, and Cake Agency, which also keeps a London office.
- The South West. blubolt in Bath for Shopify Plus moves with published results, Blue Horizons in Gloucester for food and drink, and two Exeter teams: Swanky for new countries and subscriptions, Tribe for subscription food and wellness brands.
- The North. Create8 in Stockport builds stores and then runs them. IDHL works from Leeds and Manchester, as well as London and Southampton.
- Norwich. Quickfire Digital, the Hunter Boots and Mous conversion team, splits its people between Norwich and London.
Selling on Shopify from the UK
A UK store has local settings to get right before launch. Put these in the brief for your agency:
- Payments. Shopify Payments in the UK takes Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Maestro, with Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay switched on from the start. Klarna works in the UK and 18 European countries, and shoppers abroad see local methods such as iDEAL and Bancontact.
- Payouts. Money arrives in pounds, at the earliest three business days after a sale.
- VAT. The standard rate is 20%, with 5% and 0% rates for some goods (GOV.UK). You must register once taxable turnover goes over £90,000 in 12 months (GOV.UK).
- Selling to Europe and beyond. Prices per country and currency come from Shopify Markets. Run your offers per market as well, so £10 off at home becomes a round euro amount in Ireland and a round dollar amount in the US: see different discounts for different countries.
- Partners to choose from. 464 Shopify partners list the UK as home, 19 of them at Platinum and 17 at Premier, Shopify’s top two tiers.
Checked, not listed. Five names that come up when you search for a UK Shopify agency are not on this list, and this is what we found. Charle, the London Premier partner behind work for Gilbert Rugby and Cambridge Satchel, puts no dates on its case studies and has no Shopify reviews yet. That left us unable to place its client work in 2025 or 2026. Eastside Co’s Shopify partner profile link no longer opens, so its tier and reviews could not be read. Velstar, in Liverpool and Leeds, links two client stores, and neither showed a Shopify signal when we checked. Vervaunt builds on Shopify and other platforms, and GANNI, from its featured work, did not load on Shopify. BORN, formerly We Make Websites, is now part of Tech Mahindra, and its homepage does not mention Shopify.
How we picked and checked
Our team started from 50 agencies that build on Shopify with an office in the United Kingdom, found through the Shopify Partner Directory, apps' partner lists and the agencies' own sites. An agency made the list only if Shopify is its core work and it shipped client work in 2025 or 2026.
For every agency on the list we checked:
- its Shopify partner profile: tier, reviews and partner date;
- its own site, wherever it let us in, and its listings on app partner directories;
- up to three client stores it shows as its work. "Live on Shopify" means the store loads and its pages run on Shopify's storefront. "Fast on mobile" means it passes Core Web Vitals on phones in Google's real-user data (Chrome UX Report); no stamp means too little Google data or not passing yet.
The order follows one rule: agencies with a Shopify review from the last 12 months come first, because they are clearly still shipping work; then Shopify partner tier (Platinum, then Premier, Plus and Select); then how many reviews each has; then the share of its showcased stores live on Shopify. "Best for" says where each one is strongest, so a lower-ranked agency can still be the right pick for your project.
Shashwat is a developer and the founder of DiscountOS. He has built Shopify stores and Shopify apps and has worked alongside Shopify agencies on client builds, and he writes our guides to how Shopify discounts work and our research on Shopify agencies. The research behind this page was done by hand by the DiscountOS team, and Shashwat checked and signed the ranking. "Weigh first" is the point we would raise with each agency before signing, from the same research. Every fact carries the date we checked it.
No agency paid to be here, and no listing depends on a link back. DiscountOS is a Shopify app, not an agency, so we have no one of our own to rank.
