Ranked by recent Shopify-verified work first (a merchant review in the last 12 months), then Shopify partner tier, then review count. "Best for" says which job each one suits.
Selling on Shopify from Ireland
Four Irish details to settle with your agency before the build starts:
- Payments. Shopify Payments works for businesses in Ireland, so cards and wallets come through Shopify itself, with no separate payment provider to sign up for.
- Shipping. Shopify’s own discounted labels cover a list of countries that leaves Ireland out, so Irish stores connect An Post or a courier through a carrier app or their own account. Rates and labels then show up in the Shopify admin like any other order step.
- VAT. Irish VAT is 23% at the standard rate and 13.5% at the reduced rate (Revenue). Once sales to consumers elsewhere in the EU pass €10,000 in a year, each buyer pays their own country’s rate, usually declared through the One Stop Shop.
- Euro and sterling. Shopify Markets gives each country its own prices and currency. Give each market its own sale as well, so a €10 off code doesn’t land as an odd sterling figure for UK shoppers: see different discounts for different countries.
The Trading Online Voucher
A small Irish firm can have half its Shopify build paid for. Your Local Enterprise Office runs the Trading Online Voucher, which covers half the cost of going online, up to €2,500, plus training. You qualify with 10 or fewer staff, turnover under €2m and at least 6 months of trading, and the voucher can pay for the website, online payments and booking systems. Once the first voucher is claimed, you can apply for a second.
The order matters. Apply and get approval before you sign the agency’s quote, because spending before approval doesn’t count, and each Local Enterprise Office sets its own application windows, so check yours first. Of the agencies here, Tivoli Media helps its retail clients with the application itself.
Checked, not listed. Search for an Irish Shopify agency and three more names appear that are not among these eight. StudioForty9 in Cork is one of Ireland’s two Premier partners, but its own site would not open for us on any try and its Shopify profile has no reviews, so we could not confirm its 2025 and 2026 work. DEPT, the other Premier partner, has a Dublin office at Thomas Burgh House, but the Shopify case studies it shows are from its global network, not Ireland, and carry no dates. Lightyear Creative, in Dublin 12 and a Shopify partner since February 2013, shows no dated 2025 or 2026 work on its site, and March 2022 brought its newest Shopify review.
How we picked and checked
Our team started from 27 agencies that build on Shopify with an office in Ireland, found through the Shopify Partner Directory, apps' partner lists and the agencies' own sites. An agency made the list only if Shopify is its core work and it shipped client work in 2025 or 2026.
For every agency on the list we checked:
- its Shopify partner profile: tier, reviews and partner date;
- its own site, wherever it let us in, and its listings on app partner directories;
- up to three client stores it shows as its work. "Live on Shopify" means the store loads and its pages run on Shopify's storefront. "Fast on mobile" means it passes Core Web Vitals on phones in Google's real-user data (Chrome UX Report); no stamp means too little Google data or not passing yet.
The order follows one rule: agencies with a Shopify review from the last 12 months come first, because they are clearly still shipping work; then Shopify partner tier (Platinum, then Premier, Plus and Select); then how many reviews each has; then the share of its showcased stores live on Shopify. "Best for" says where each one is strongest, so a lower-ranked agency can still be the right pick for your project.
Shashwat is a developer and the founder of DiscountOS. He has built Shopify stores and Shopify apps and has worked alongside Shopify agencies on client builds, and he writes our guides to how Shopify discounts work and our research on Shopify agencies. The research behind this page was done by hand by the DiscountOS team, and Shashwat checked and signed the ranking. "Weigh first" is the point we would raise with each agency before signing, from the same research. Every fact carries the date we checked it.
No agency paid to be here, and no listing depends on a link back. DiscountOS is a Shopify app, not an agency, so we have no one of our own to rank.
