CodeOS Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how CodeOS - Bulk Discount Codes ("CodeOS") collects, uses, and discloses your personal information as a Shopify app. By installing or using CodeOS, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information we collect

• Merchant contact information: the store owner name, email address, and phone number provided by Shopify when you install the app or that you share when contacting support.
• Store information: your Shopify store name, URL, country, currency, timezone, language, and Shopify plan.
• Discount code data: the code sets you generate or import with the app — the codes themselves, the discounts they attach to, their patterns, and their statuses — so features like set history, export, and one-click removal work.
• Usage data: app interaction logs, usage statistics, and preferences.
• Payment information: billing details handled through Shopify transactions.

2. Your customers' data

CodeOS does not collect, store, or sell your customers' personal information. The app creates and manages discount codes on your store through Shopify's Admin API; code redemption happens entirely inside Shopify's checkout. Usage numbers shown in the app are anonymous aggregate counts provided by Shopify, and no customer identity ever reaches or is stored on our systems. We request no customer-data permissions from Shopify. If you import a code list, treat it as discount data — code files should not contain personal information.

3. Shopify privacy webhooks

We implement Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact, and shop/redact). Because we hold no customer personal data, customer data requests and redaction requests are satisfied with nothing to return or erase. When Shopify sends shop/redact after you uninstall, your store records and access credentials are erased from our systems.

5. Sharing your information

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may share information with trusted service providers who help us operate the app, when required by law, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of CodeOS, our users, and the public.

6. Where your data is hosted

Our application infrastructure is hosted in the European Union (Hetzner, Germany). Store and discount code data lives on our EU servers and within your own Shopify store; Shopify processes checkout and platform data under its own privacy policy.

7. Data retention

We retain your information only as long as necessary to deliver our services, or as required to comply with our legal obligations. Code set records are kept while the app is installed so you can review, export, and undo past sets. When you uninstall the app, your store records and access credentials are deleted from our systems; minimal store-level records (such as billing history) may be retained where needed for legal and accounting purposes.

You may access, update, or delete your personal information at any time by contacting us at the address below. We will respond in line with applicable data-protection laws.

9. Security

We implement reasonable measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
