When the data changes

This content is not available in your language yet.

DiscountOS rewrites the data when something changes. The times below were measured on a test store on 28 September and 1 October 2026. They are typical times, not guarantees.

Nothing changes for a whileAn automatic checkAt least every 2 hours

Shopify does not always tell apps when a discount’s tags change. A tag changed from Shopify’s discount list or through the Admin API sends no notice. So DiscountOS checks the tags of your active discounts every 2 minutes and updates the data when they changed. Sometimes Shopify does send a notice, and then the update comes sooner. Press Manual sync if you need it right away.

Scheduled discounts from Shopify or other apps

Section titled “Scheduled discounts from Shopify or other apps”

DiscountOS knows the start time of its own discounts and syncs right after it. For Shopify’s own discounts and other apps’ discounts it sees only discounts that are already active. The 2-minute tag check sees a tagged discount once it becomes active, so it appears within about 2 minutes of its start. Press Manual sync after the start if you need it right away.

Nothing is updated. A discount that ends while paused stays in the data: in our test it was still there after its end time. Turning Live sync on again removed it on the first sync. Check sync_paused in your theme. See Turn it on and control it.

Removing the data and turning Live sync back on writes everything again. On the test store, with 21 discounts, removal took 12 seconds and the fresh write took 21 seconds. The result matched the data before the removal field for field. The only difference: each entry got a new metaobject ID. Its handle (discount-<id>) stayed the same.
