This Privacy Policy describes how DiscountOS collects, uses, and discloses your personal information across our Shopify apps and services. By installing or using DiscountOS, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information we collect

• Merchant contact information: the name, email address, phone number, and contact details you provide when installing the app or contacting support.
• Store information: your Shopify store name, URL, and settings.
• Discount configurations: the discounts, rules, and labels you create in the app.
• Usage data: app interaction logs, usage statistics, and preferences.
• Payment information: billing details handled through Shopify transactions.

2. Your customers' data

DiscountOS does not collect, store, or sell your customers' personal information. Our discount engine runs entirely inside Shopify's checkout: to decide whether a discount applies, it reads eligibility signals (such as customer tags or order counts) in the moment, provided by Shopify, and none of that information is transmitted to or stored on our systems. We request no customer-data permissions from Shopify.

3. Shopify privacy webhooks

We implement Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact, and shop/redact). Because we hold no customer personal data, customer data requests and redaction requests are satisfied with nothing to return or erase.

Our application infrastructure is hosted in the European Union (Hetzner, Germany). Store and discount data lives on our EU servers and within your own Shopify store; Shopify processes checkout and platform data under its own privacy policy.

7. Data retention

We retain your information only as long as necessary to deliver our services, or as required to comply with our legal obligations. When you uninstall the app, your discount records and store access credentials are deleted from our systems; minimal store-level records (such as billing history) may be retained where needed for legal and accounting purposes.

You may access, update, or delete your personal information at any time by contacting us at the address below. We will respond in line with applicable data-protection laws.

9. Security

We implement reasonable measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
